Dr. M. Basheer Ahmed obtained his undergraduate degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad,India, and M.D. from Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his psychiatric residency at Glasgow University, Scotland. He is a diplomat in psychiatry from Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, London, Edinburgh, and Scotland. He is a diplomat of American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and he is a Fellow of Royal College of Psychiatrists, London, and Royal College of Physicians, Canada. He is a Distinguished Fellow of American Psychiatric Association. He is a member of Texas Medical Association, and Tarrant County Medical Society.
Dr. Ahmed has served as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, Professor of Psychiatry, University of North Texas, Health Science Center, Fort Worth, and Professor of Psychiatry, Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, Texas. He served as Chief of Psychiatry at John Peters Smith Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, and Medical Plaza Center of Fort Worth, Texas. He is in private practice in Fort Worth since 1984. He is a founder and chairman of Muslim Community Center for Human Services, since its inception in1995.. Muslim Community Center for Human Services which is a medical and social service organization helping indigent Muslims residing in Dallas/Ft. Worth area. He can be reached at mcchs1999@hotmail.com
